How To Help A Dog With Kidney Disease

You should feed your dog a low protein, low salt diet that is also low in minerals.

Try to avoid lower quality foods that are grain-based.

I just found out today that my 11 year old rottie/burmese mtn dog has kidney problems. From what I read, it sounds like it is chronic but I am waiting for the vet to confirm this afternoon. This article was very helpful. The vet has recommeded changing his diet to “k/d” (which is probably science diet.
